Barefoot running – almost. AquaSocks are cheap on Amazon. They’re pretty. And so close to barefoot. I feel like I’m running on a beautiful beach with white sands and clear water.
…Until I step on a giant rock. But that’s all right. It’s all part of the experience. And I have the best running buddies anyone could ask for.
It also never hurts to have a partner for floor exercises.
I think I’ve always liked the idea of barefoot running because it makes me feel like Tarzan. I feel like an animal out in the wild, free and full of natural spirit.
Now that I’m older, I also enjoy the idea of getting by with less. It seems minor to swap running shoes for something little more than socks, but it boosts my spirit. It helps me connect with the earth and the creatures around me.
Perhaps reducing the medium between the vessel (my body) and the earth allows my soul to better connect with the outside world. It enhances the experience of nature.
Barefoot 🦶 running (almost). It’s not for everyone, I guess, but it works for me.
